Berlin Group Rides: Discover the Best Routes and Cycling Groups

Berlin VeloCity Race in August 2024 (60 km & 100 km distance)

I bought my first proper road bike in May 2024 and I’ve been hooked ever since. Over the summer, I logged more than 5,000 kilometers and had the chance to join many of the group rides Berlin has to offer.

Group rides are fantastic for meeting new people, discovering fresh routes, and pushing your fitness to new levels. My top experiences so far have been with Berlin Racing Squad, Rapha Berlin, Ryzon, and Trek.

Berlin Bike Stores and their group rides:

  • 8bar Bikes - Hosts lively group rides every Tuesday evening through summer, offering both a relaxed, no-drop “party pace” and a faster, drop ride. They also organize gravel rides during the colder months for those looking for a bit of off-road adventure

  • Berlin Racing Squad - Meets for group rides every Wednesday evening in summer, with an average pace around 28–30 km/h. Their rides launch from the NEW ØRD3R store, and in winter, they switch to gravel routes

  • The Bikery - Provides women-only group rides on Wednesday mornings and after work, fostering a supportive environment for female cyclists

  • CYKEL BUTIK - Though I haven’t had a chance to join this group, it comes highly recommended. They usually ride on Wednesday evenings in summer and shift to gravel routes in winter

  • FLUX RC - Organizes Wednesday evening rides during summer, starting and ending at the Berliner Berg Brewery in Treptow. The pace tends to be around 30–32 km/h, making it an ideal choice for those who like a brisk ride capped off with a social atmosphere

  • MAAP - Opened a Berlin store next to the Rapha Clubhouse in October 2024 and started offering Thursday morning fast-paced rides and Saturday morning group rides averaging around 28 km/h

  • nanobike - Runs after-work Friday rides even in colder months. I haven’t joined their rides personally, as the starting point is a bit outside the city center

  • nodropcoffee - While I haven’t had the chance to join, I believe their rides are strictly gravel, catering to off-road enthusiasts

  • Rad Race Shop- I haven’t joined their group yet, so I’m not certain if their rides are gravel-focused or include road routes but based on their Strava page, they offer weekly winter gravel rides

  • Rapha Berlin - Organizes rides from their Mitte clubhouse with a range of options. In summer, they offer rides on Monday evenings, Wednesday mornings, and weekends. In the colder months, they switch the Monday evening rides with Tuesday evening. Paces vary, but the Monday evening and Saturday morning rides are generally relaxed. Participation usually requires Rapha membership, though some rides are occasionally open to the public here

  • ROSE Bikes - While I haven’t joined their rides, they seem to focus on gravel routes during the winter, with events listed on their grouprides.cc page

  • Ryzon - Hosts Sunday rides that cover distances up to 160 km, and they keep going through winter as weather permits. This is one of the best group rides in Berlin, with skilled leaders, a friendly group, and scenic routes. Average pace is around 28–30 km/h

  • Standert Bicycles - Known for being one of the faster group rides in Berlin, Standert offers race-pace, drop rides. It’s a challenge I haven’t attempted myself but is a top choice for those craving speed

  • super fast super nice - Another fast-paced group similar to Standert, though I haven’t tried their rides yet

  • Trek Bicycle - Offers no-drop rides every Thursday and Saturday in summer, with the option for virtual Zwift rides on Thursdays in winter. Recently, they began hosting women-only rides, wrapping up their summer season with this inclusive addition. Average pace sits around 26–28 km/h
